Over the years, we have been blessed to work directly with some of the best cannabis breeders in the world and have acquired a vast collection of seed stock that makes up our genetic catalog. This has allowed us to carefully select and cultivate genetics specific to our cultivation methods and direction of our brand.
We source all of our genetics from seed, never clones, and spend well over a year selecting the best of the best from the genetics we work with. Our selection process looks at these key factors during the growth cycle:
- Veg growth
- How well does it clone
- Resistance to pests and diseases
- How well does it respond to our environment and feeding regiment
- Yield
- Smell, taste, and overall profile
- Potency and terpene profile
Once we identify potential keepers, we run them through a full harvest cycle a second and sometimes a third time to narrow the selections down even further. This ensures there are no genetic issues or changes once cloned.
This process takes time, but allows us to bring forth the very best of the genetic lineages we work with and showcase the breeder's work on an accelerated level. Our selections are unique to the characteristic traits we look for when selecting genetics for the Papa Jesus brand.
